Welcome to my world

of words, wonder, and

a little bit of wiliness.

I’d like to share my musings with you.

I have almost always been a writer in one form or another. From magazine articles to ad copy to TV commercials to educational films and books… I love to write. I hope you will enjoy my newest writing venture, a storytelling blog, and let me know what you’re thinking when the muse finds you, too.

I wrote it for you!

Leaves of Grass

The sun is out today, but not too long ago it was rainy, blustery, and gloomy. And as much as I tried to rise above the weather, it affected me. I got all gloomy and doomy, too. Like the sky, my thoughts darkened. Like the wind, my mood was gusty, resulting in a type of spiritual whiplash. I resorted to sappy TV, World War II novels of heroism, and cleaning…

Windows

I take some things for granted, such as my husband, that I can buy groceries other than what’s on sale, and that my hair is coming in silver rather than falling out. I also take for granted windows. Have you ever been in a windowless room? It’s claustrophobic, stuffy, stultifying. Without windows, we cannot look out. Without windows we cannot see in. Windows offer more than a view or a…

INSIGHT tells us that you were the third-place winner in their young writers contest. I disagree. I believe that you should have won first place.

Your style of writing brought me into your world. You conveyed vivid images throughout. Reading this left me in tears quite a bit. It’s truly an inspirational story; one that gives you hope.

I have given Heide’s story to our adolescent services counselor who deals with kids who are coming unglued because their parents have drinking problems. I believe the story will be beneficial to some of those kids.

You described that experience with exceptional power. You brought the reader right upstairs with you.

Heide Boyden is a versatile and gifted writer. She provides an abundance of creativity for any project; but, more important, she tackles the most difficult assignments and delivers before deadline every time. Throw out the scale of zero to a hundred; she's off the chart on the high end. I recommend her unequivocally.

Dear Mrs. Boyden, Thank you for the jelly boats. I like yore book.

…this picture book is a rollicking approach to Mom’s bath time in the style of the “House that Jack Built.” A good example of taking an idea and pushing it to make it bigger and funnier, this story ends in a way that will make mothers nod with a knowing smile and say, “So what else is new?”

I have been reading your book before I go to sleep and cannot put it down.
